I'm Chidinma,
nice to meet you.
Outside of UX product development support and research, I have 10 years of combined experience working as a model and dancer. I have walked fashion runways in West Africa, North America, and Europe. A lot of my early career was spent creating and collaborating with fashion designers, entrepreneurs, and dancers. I have worked full time during my last 2-3 years of college to fund my education and also gain experience in the professional work by doing product operation roles at Facebook at Google related to user feedback, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
How I got started in design
I started my design career in 2019 at Western Digital where my responsibilities included interaction design, visual design, user research, usability testing, and customer analysis. Prior to that, I spent four years as a product development specialist at Tivo, and at Facebook where I worked on products like Search, Messenger, Live, and currently on Portal. These experiences have made me well versed in the product development life cycle, with a research mindset that prioritizes user needs to inform design decisions and strategy.
I have been researching the intersection of psychology and technology for 4 years now. I became immersed in it prior to my graduation by auditing game development courses and building my early design projects and research work. See Early project
What I've been working on
I've been self-teaching and focusing on honing in visual design skills and the last few projects I have worked on are the flashback cloud by Sandisk. Also engaging in hackathons like the Facebook Devpost where I build a chatbot utilizing quick replies, one time notifications and handoff protocols.
What I'm curious about
I'm very curious about VR/AR, 3D modeling. One of my prior research projects was a research project on learning and the environment. Conducted by pairing learning cards in VR with classical music. See Project here
